Synchronizing email to Nokia phones using Profimail

Imap Interface

Nokia phones that use the Symbian operating system can use the third party product Profimail to connect to Softalk Share Server's IMAP interface to synchronize email over-the-air.

The Softalk Share Server IMAP interface must be enabled in the administrator program by expanding the Services section and clicking on the IMAP option. Click the "Enable" link in the right hand pane. The default port is 143 but you can change this as required by clicking on the Settings button.

You will need to configure your office router to port forward incoming traffic on port 143, or whatever port you decide to use, through to the Softalk Share Server host computer.

For more detail regarding configuring the Softalk Share Server IMAP interface, please refer to the document called Accessing your mail folders from a PDA or Smartphone .
